This pup is keeping us on our toes. He's whip smart, bold, and a joy to train and partner with. He has stayed at home with us and is working on Scent Work titles, herding, Rally, and conformation. He seems to be enjoying all the things.

He had his conformation debut at the 2024 Swedish Vallhund National and was Reserve Winners Dog to the Major 4 times. He was also awarded Best Puppy at the National. He walked into the show at exactly 6 months and 0 days old and proceeded to show his potential.

2025 has been a big year:

Conformation: Championship, Grand Championship, Best in Specialty Show, Reserve Best in Show Owner Handled, Best in Show Owner Handled, NOHS Bronze

Performance:

Scent Work - Novice - Containers, Exteriors, Interiors

Herding - Pre Trial Title

Winter 2022 - The Starfish Litter

November 7th 2022

Aster free-whelped a litter of 9 puppies. 5 boys and 4 girls. (I was hoping for 5 total!) She raised them with minimal assistance from me and was generally perfect throughout the process.

Puppies were raised in our home with puppy culture. They also traveled the 2 miles to work with me every day. We enjoyed a puppy party at 6 weeks of age with friends and puppy home families. The process was a lot of hard work and so much joy all at once.

All puppies were place in their homes at ~9.5 weeks of age with their first vaccines, DNA eye test for PRA, CAER exam, worming, microchip and AKC registration.

Red Collar Boy - Patrick (Pax)

Pax has stayed close by and it's great to get to see him. He's now 1 point away from his Conformation Championship, and enjoys doing all the fun things with his people.

Orange Collar Girl - Bat!

Bat! Lives in Montana where she gets to herd all the things and try to boss around her German Shepherd friends. She was able to be raised for some time with her Great Grandmother! This Girl was a spark from the word 'go'! She has several herding titles and a high in trial and reserve high in trial in both AGILITY and HERDING to her name!

Look out for a possible 2026 litter from Bat!

Yellow Collar Girl - Flair

Flair has been so like her mother: sass and smarts. She finished her AKC conformation championship in January of 2024. She has her AKC SCN title, and an NACSW NW 1 title with a first place finish! She will be focusing with her owner on scent work and other sports.
After whelping her first litter in March of 2025, she finished her Grand Championship in style Lodi California in June.

Green Collar Girl - Elsa

Elsa lives a charmed life where she gets to boss around her very own Dachshund! She is the very best companion to her people and sweet to the max. She's a little peanut, but only in stature!

Blue Collar Boy - Zebras

Zegras got to fly to Texas to be part of a family and work as a training partner and future demo dog to help teach others! So proud of this wild child. He's been able to go to work and lots of classes with his human.

Teal Collar Boy - Asterix

Asterix was finally able to join his family in New Zealand in September of 2023. This boy had something special from the beginning and He has not disappointed! While in the USA he was able to complete his AKC conformation championship. He has also completed his New Zealand Championship being the FIRST import American/NZ champion! He now has a lovely litter of his own on the ground and reports are positive on their temperaments.

Purple Boy - Loki

Loki joined a family not too far away and has 2 of his very own kids to love on. He's been thriving as an active companion. I think they'd agree, a lot of dog in a small package.

White Collar boy - Quill

Quill lives with a Malinois sister and finished his conformation Championship and his Grand Championship! He also achieved a group 1 in owner handled herding group. He also gets to play at nose work earning his SCA SBN TKN and other fun sports. Quill is sweet and cuddly and don't tell him he's a small dog. We can't wait to see where this dog goes!

Black Collar Girl - Jetta

Jetta is a power packed punch in a peanut package. She definitely got the 'do it now' gene! Jetta is competing at nose work and has earned her NACSW NW3 - Elite! AKC SWA SIE SEE SBE TKN titles. She is also starting Agility! With her mom's expert guidance we know she'll shine.
